Beau Stanton
The Brooklyn-based artist Beau Stanton is the protégé of Ron English. His artwork can be described as a fusion of pop-surrealism and romanticism. Beau connects sophisticated ornaments and luscious colours with classical extremes like destruction/creation or death/birth. His aim is not only to show the aesthetic relationship between beauty and demolition, but also to reveal their strong connection as an element of historic processes.
Der in Brooklyn lebende Künstler Beau Stanton ist der Protegé von Ron English. In seinen Werken vereint er filigrane Ornamente, satte Farben und Ästhetik mit Themen wie Wiedergeburt, Zerstörung und Schöpfung. Pop-Surrealismus trifft auf Romantik. Beaus Interesse gilt dabei historischen Prozessen und der nahen Verwandtschaft von Schönheit und Verwüstung.

A 'drawing' major with a BFA honors from the Alberta College of Art and Design (Calgary), Jason's a long-time addict of charcoal, ink, and paint pushing across surfaces far and wide. "Drawing for me is a “labour of vision” (to use the words of Merleau Ponty), that is a submission to blindness; a simultaneous awareness of a mind/ body/ mass relationship that in effect, draws me. I study how our actions and quite literally, our touch, define us--- giving meaning to the simple act of being human in a specific time and place. " He is also the co-creator of the EN MASSE project along side Tim Barnard, in Montreal's Galerie Pangee. Along side of the EN MASSE Project, Botkin finds time to pursue his drawing and painting for many local and international exhibitions. In Montreal he is represented by Galerie Yves Laroche / LNDMRK
Sein Studium am Alberta College of Art and Design hat Jason Botkin mit einem Bachelor of Fine Arts und Auszeichnung abgeschlossen. Für seine detailreichen Solo-Zeichnungen nutzt er meist Kohle oder Tinte. Ebenso begeistert ist er von Farbe: “Malen bedeutet für mich, mir etwas vorstellen zu können. Ein gleichzeitiges Bewusstsein von Verstand, Körper und den verschiedensten Beziehungen zueinander. Eigentlich tu ich nur das, was diese Elemente mir vermitteln. Ich beobachte unsere Handlungen und wie wir Dinge oder einander berühren; damit will ich zeigen was Menschsein zu einer bestimmten Zeit und einem bestimmten Ort bedeutet.” Nun lebt und arbeitet er in Montreal und ist, wie auch Fred Caron, Mitbegründer und Mitglied des künstlerischen Kollektivs „En Masse“ von der Galerie Pangee in Kanada. Darüber hinaus malt und zeichnet er für viele lokale und internationale Ausstellungen. In Montreal wird er von der Galerie Yves Laroche / LNDMRK vertreten.
Fred Caron
Fred Caron: The Velt, silkscreen print that glows in the dark, 56 x 71cm, 2010Fred Caron is an all-rounder: he is an artist, creative director and co-director of the Canadian art collective ‘En Masse’. Born in Montreal, he came into contact with the local skate and graffiti scene at an early age which still has a big influence on his various artworks. His illustrations, photographs, videos and commercials contain black-and-white comic figures or colourful animations. He set himself the target to always tell a story with his works of art.
Fred Caron ist vielseitig begabt: er ist Künstler, Kreativdirektor und Mitbegründer des kanadischen Künstlerkollektivs „En Masse“. Er wurde in Montreal geboren und kam schon früh mit der dortigen Skater- und Graffitiszene in Kontakt. Diese Begegnung prägt ihn und seine Kunst bis heute: in seinen Illustrationen, Fotografien, Videos und Werbespots finden sich schwarzweiße Comicfiguren oder auch grelle Animationen. Caron ist es dabei stets darauf bedacht, mit seinen Werken eine Geschichte zu erzählen.
