My Dog Sighs
‘My dog sighs’ is based in the seaside city of Southsea. He is one of the founders of Free Art Friday in Southsea which promotes the idea of leaving art out on the streets once a month in random places for passers-by to take home. He recently had his first solo exhition at London’s Pure Evil Gallery.
Der Künstler "My dog sighs" lebt in der Küstenstadt Southsea, England. Er gehört zu den Begründern von Free Art Friday, einer Veranstaltung, die einmal im Monat stattfindet, um die Kunst auf die Straße zu bringen. Passanten können die Werke von dort aus direkt mit nach Hause nehmen. Erst vor kurzem hatte er seine erste Einzelausstellung in der Pure Evil Gallery in London.
Michael Mararian
Michael Mararian: Acceptance Redux, acrylic on paper, 152,5 x 112cm, 2011Rendering traditionally cheerful images and concepts into frightening, yet humorous, tableaus, Michael Mararian often focuses on children as the last bastion of innocence to explore the dark humor behind social and psychological issues. What can on one level be construed as melancholy and cruel, can alternately be viewed as amusing, even charming. He enjoys letting his viewers decide.
Michael is a graduate of the Art and Theater program at the University of Bridgeport as well having studied at the Arts Student's League in New York City. His work has previously been shown worldwide at Corey Helford Gallery and Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles, Bristol City Museum in Bristol England, Galerie D'Art Yves Laroche in Montreal, Last Rites Gallery in New York City and the Antonia Fraunberg Gallery in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Mit dunklem Humor erforscht Michael Mararian soziale und psychologische Probleme, wenn er meist Kinder als letzter Hoffnungsträger der Unschuld darstellt, um die eigentlich so fröhlichen Bilder in beängstigende und gleichzeitig humorvolle Gemälde zu verwandeln. Einerseits kann das als trübsinnig und grausam betrachtet werden, andererseits kann man diesen Humor als amüsant, vielleicht sogar als entzückend auffassen. Mararian überlässt diese Entscheidung gerne dem Betrachter.
Der Künstler studierte an der University of Bridgeport Kunst und Theater und an der Arts Student's League in New York City. Molly Crabapple
Molly Crabapple: Our Lady of Liberty ParkMolly Crabapple is a New York artist and the creator of the global drawing movement Dr. Sketchy’s Anti- Art School. She has created subversive, Victorian inspired art for clients including The New York Times, Red Bull, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and South by Southwest Interactive, as well as Occupy Wall Street. Molly has probably had her art used in any context art can be used, including for protest posters, giant nightclub murals, created live for Chateau Marmont, and embellishing photos for Lomography.
She has been profiled in hundreds of media outlets around the world, including BBC Newsnight and The New York Times. Considered a pioneer of combining visual art and the internet, Molly has spoken at The Museum of Modern Art, The Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, Columbia University, SXSW and in museums and universities from Helsinki to Sao Paulo. Molly’s work is in the permanent collection of the New York Historical Society and the Rubin Museum. She was shortlisted, along with Idris Elba for the UK’s Groucho Award in 2011.

Molly Crabapple ist bereits weltbekannt, etliche Medien haben sich ihrer Person gewidmet. Weil sie auch als Pionierin in der Verknüpfung von visueller Kunst und dem Netz gilt, erwiesen ihr das Museum of Modern Art, das Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art, die Columbia University, SXSW und verschiedene Museen und Universitäten von Helsinki bis nach Sao Paulo die Ehre von ihren Erfahrungen zu berichten. Ihre Werke werden in den Dauerausstellungen von der New York Historical Society und vom Rubin Museum präsentiert. Außerdem war sie für den britischen Groucho Award 2011 nominiert.
