Rebecca Reeve
Rebecca Reeve is a British artist residing and working in Brooklyn, New York. She received her MFA in Photography from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Shooting in 35mm and medium format film, Rebecca is currently working on long-term projects in Cuba and New York. She has exhibited work at La Biennale de Montreal (2011), Freies Museum Berlin (Germany), EFA Project Space (NYC), Masur Museum of Art (Monroe, LA), Sandbox (NYC), Maloney Art Gallery (Elizabeth, NJ), and others.
Rebecca Reeve ist Britin, lebt jedoch in Brooklyn, New York und absolvierte ihren MFA in Fotografie an der University of New South Wales in Australien. Zur Zeit arbeitet sie an einem Langzeitprojekt in New York und in Kuba. Sie fotografiert mit Mittelformat- und Kleinbildfilmen von 35 mm. Ihre Werke wurden bereits auf der Biennale de Montreal (2011), im Freien Museum Berlin (Germany), im EFA Project Space (NYC), im Masur Museum of Art (Monroe, LA), in der Sandbox (NYC), in der Maloney Art Gallery (Elizabeth, NJ) und anderen Ausstellungsräumen gezeigt.

Rudy Fig is a 23 year old, US based, self taught oil painter and toy enthusiast. With toy designers for parents, Rudy grew up in a very creative environment and excelled in the arts from a young age. After flunking out of art school (with flying colors) she taught herself how to paint and quickly began showing her work at age 17 in her hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her lush oil paintings and custom toy work feature a cosmic world of candy coated vixens, magical garden tea parties, and psychological purging. Her signature pallet boasts saturated pastels and a beaming world of organized color chaos.
Despite her young age, Rudy Fig shares her work alongside many established artists in galleries across the US and beyond as well as in the private collections of her loyal patrons around the globe. Rudy Fig is maturing into a highly collectable and exciting young artist. Aside from the fine art world, Rudy is also a Young mother, musician, lover of animals, watcher of planets, and a little bit crazy.
Die 23-jährige Amerikanerin hat sich das Malen mit Ölfarben selbst beigebracht. Die Begeisterung für Spielzeug wurde ihr in die Wiege gelegt, denn ihre Eltern sind Spielzeugdesigner. Dieses kreative Umfeld prägte sie. Schon als junges Mädchen war sie hervorrangend in Kunst. Nachdem sie aus der Kunstschule herausgeflogen ist, ergriff sie die Initiative und eignete sich das Malen auf eigene Faust an. Ziemlich schnell gelang es Rudy Fig ihre Werke in ihrer Heimatstadt Minneapolis in Minnesota auszustellen. Damals war sie erst 17 Jahre alt.
Obwohl die Künstlerin noch so jung ist, werden ihre Arbeiten neben anerkannten Künstlern in nationalen und internationalen Galerien ausgestellt und befinden sich in den Sammlungen ihrer treuen Gefolgschaft rund um den Globus. Die Ölgemälde und das maßgefertigte Spielzeug zaubern eine Welt aus mit Bonbons umhüllten Drachen, märchenhaften Teeparties und großäugigen Mädchen. Ihr Wiedererkennungswert liegt in den satten Pastellfarben und dem arrangierten Chaos des Kolorits. Sie entwickelt sich zu einer aufregenden und viel gesammelten Künstlerin. Und wäre es damit noch nicht genug, ist Rudy auch Mutter, Musikerin, Tierliebhaberin und beobachtet den Kosmos - sowieso ist sie ein wenig verrückt.
Shark Toof
Shark Toof’s iconic oversized shark wheatpastes can be found on the streets around the world. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He started painting graffiti in 1985 eventually graduating from Art center college of Design. The content of his work is pronounced by his travels and continuing exploration of animal spirits, nature, and the struggle of predator vs prey in male and female roles.
In the studio, his work takes on a more layered effect, combining collage, illustration, and painting to created multi layered pieces that evoke vintage advertising, animalistic qualities, and world influences. He recently had a show at Le Basse Projects and at Thinkspace, L.A..
Wer aufmerksam durch die Welt wandelt, entdeckt die übergroßen Paste-Ups überall. Meist kreiert Shark Toof Hai-Motive. Seit 1985 als Graffitisprayer unterwegs, landete er am Art center college of Design. Dort machte der Künstler auch seinen Abschluss.
In seinen Arbeiten finden sich Einflüsse von seinen Reisen und der Erkundung von Tiergeistern und Natur wieder. Außerdem inspiriert ihn der Kampf zwischen Jäger und Beute in Bezug auf die weibliche und männliche Rolle in der Gesellschaft. Im Atelier verschmelzen Collagen, Illustrationen und Malereien zu vielschichtigen Werken. Sie erinnern an Reklame aus vergangenen Zeiten, sind angeregt von der Tierwelt und den verschiedenen Kulturen der Erde. Gerade beendete Shark Toof eine Schau bei Le Basse Projects in Los Angeles und eine Einzelausstellung im Thinkspace.
